Braydon 3.11 and Brooks 21 months

It took me nearly two years to get this sweet picture of our boys smiling and looking the same direction. I love this picture and I know I will have it in our house always!!! Speaking of houses, we recently sold ours and we will be building a new house near by with a much bigger yard! I am excited, but sad to leave this house. It is our first home and Rowdy built it.... Not to mention the thought of bringing our babies home...was to this cozy home of ours. So new memories to be made and the thought of the boys playing outside while I cook dinner makes me a little less sad.

Anyway, Braydon and Brooks are at a fun stage and they play together lots. I love when Braydon asks Brooks to play with him. Brooks plays like a 4 year old. It cracks me up to listen to him play bad guys with action figures and act so boy when he just a baby :) Braydon was playing with balls and books and fisher price at 21 months...so is life as a baby brother.

Braydon has been praying for a baby sister lately and he is very sure that he wants a sister and not another brother. This was instigated when he held Daniels new baby sister Claire and he told me he wanted one....So we pray for a baby sister :) But for now we are content with two boys and I am looking forward to enjoying them for now!

Aww the baby! 20 months

His excitement to see all the bounce houses out front!!

Precious Brooks is 20 months!!! Yay!! Brooksie is chatty and snuggly and sweet and has about the best scream of any child I have ever met. Really, I challenge!!! ;) He has a big personality and makes me laugh all the time. He has by far the cutest/fastest run of any little guy his size. He kicks his little feet out to the sides and takes off...he kind of looks like a cartoon running. I giggle every time I see it. He has lots of words and I forget how cute it is to hear him say things like "Alligator" or "Apple Jacks" I think I have him figured out a little better as of..yesterday. He just really wants me to talk him through everything and let him help with everything. It has made life a little less noisy and it makes me so happy that he is happy! I catch him hugging Braydon all the time and in those moments I just thank God for blessing us with 2 babies!!! Its such a joy to my heart to see them really love one another. Rowdy and I fight for who gets to pick him up at the church nursery because he might makes us feel like the MOST loved parents ever. He runs and squeals with such excitement he nearly looses his breath. He just can't wait to get his Mama or Dada!!! We are super thankful for the life Brooks West brings to our home. I love this baby like crazy!!!! Happy 20 months Brooks Bear!!!

Braydon's dream came true!!! He has super hero parents and brother..at least for a day!!! Poor Brooks had about 102 in this picture so he went straight to the couch to watch Tom & Jerry after we got a quick family picture. We already know what Braydon wants to be next year....Spiderman....Shock ;)

Sweet Braydon is 3 years and 9 months old I just can't believe he will be four in 3 short months!!! I feel like he grows taller, smarter and sweeter every. single. day. So this post is for the sweetness that is our Braydon Michael! Just a few of the reasons my heart is complete putty for this boy!

Me: "Hey B, how come you are so sweet?"

B: "Mama I love you sooo much bigger than the whole wide word"

Dad drives home from work while we are out front playing and the 1st thing Braydon says to Rowdy is, "Hi Daddy! How was your day at work today?"

In the middle of dinner he always says, "Mama I want to give you a hug and a big kiss" (so it may be a diversion to actually eating, but it's the sweetest!)

I was down with the stomach bug and he came to check on me...he checked my head and told me I had a fever asked if I needed some medicine and blew me kisses and let me "get some rest"

He has been creeping into our bedroom almost every night for at least a month and he always comes to my side of the bed and crawls up in btwn Rowdy and I and one night while I was almost back to sleep he held my cheeks and kissed my lips and said in a whisper, "Love you so much Mama!" My heart about exploded out of my chest. In the morning if he has crawled into bed w us he will always ask me if it's ok to wake up yet and time to open our eyes.

I could type for hours about the dialog I have with this tender hearted boy, but I just wanted to remember some of the sweet things he does when I look back on this age. While I love having babies in the house I sure am crazy about this big boy!!!

Well it looks like Fall at the Arboretum. Who would know since it was 100 today! We made it to the Arboretum last Friday and from 10am to 2pm there was not one single fit thrown, no tears, not even a whimper with all 4 kids! What a fabulous day! Frisco needs an arboretum! I need more days like this...no doubt about it! Except that a day like this should promise a great nap by at least one if not both babies and we went napless. For the 1st time in Brooks life he took no nap. I guess Braydon let him on his little secret ;) It's ok, he was an angel ( partly b/c he was delirious I am sure) Treasuring the memories and moments with my loves!!!!

My babies are getting so big.

The boys have been in school for almost 1 month. They go Tues/Thursday to a MDO program. I am so pleased to report that we have literally had zero tears at drop off since day 1!!!! For both kids!!! I was amazed! Braydon maybe runs to give me 2 or 3 or 4 extra hugs before I leave but just bc he's a love bug! Brooks doesn't even look for me after I leave...my lil independent boy! The other day I asked Braydon what he learned about at school that day and he told me, "Jesus." My heart melted. I love to have teachers praying over my babies...it just feels so right! Here's to a great school year for Braydon and Brooks.

This Summer has been so busy that we haven't had too much time with The Reeds. These big guys played hard 4 wheelin, shooting bad guys, and saving the day as superheroes!!! They are into all the same things and could be left alone for hours....3 is such a fun age!!! Cody and Brooks are not really too aware of one another, but amongst all the play...they actually...PLAYED! Yay!

With my most recent cowboy post... I couldn't help but look back at some pictures of Braydon when he was Brooks age. This stings my heart a little bit. I can't believe how little Braydon was and I think I was like 1 day pregnant with Brooks...Braydon was 17 months and Brooks will be 17 months next week. Pretty fun to see how different they look. Rowdy's Aunt Linda told me Braydon looks like Rowdy and Brooks takes after me. I love these boys so much it hurts!

This weekend we made a quick trip to Abilene and while we were there we were able to squeeze in a little trip to the arena to let the boys ride the horses. Big Daddy got the boys a new horse and named him "Super B!"...Ya know, for our 2 little B's...who happen to be super! We always have so much fun watching the boys run around like two little cowboys! One would think the horses would be the highlight, but with all the dirt and ropes these two little guys are in Heaven!

This Summer has been flying by....We spent a week at the beach, several weekends out at the lake, had lots of pool parties, Friday play dates, a big boy trip for Braydon to the JW Marriott in San Antonio and just lots of fun family time.

Rowdy just took Braydon to his Gigi's for the night since he was headed South to have a meeting with one of his projects anyway. I will be so glad when that big ranch house is DONE!!! But with one napping I can get caught up on posting the memories we have made this Summer. Making memories with these boys is such a blessing....What a blessed life it is!!!

We have been going to lots of rough rider games this year. So one Sunday afternoon we went to an early game and Braydon was able to run the bases after the game was finished. He LOVED it! He just took off with no instruction!! He loves to look at these pictures of himself! He says, "Wook how fast I am running Mommy!!" Love love love my little baseball player!!! He totally bit it rounding third base and he jumped back up like no one saw....precious!

Im so glad it's this time of year again!! Its hard to believe Brooks was just 3 months old this time last year. He's pretty fun at the pool if you are taking him down the slide...He can barely catch his breath because he is so excited, but if you take a break this little sweet baby of mine goes crazy with grunts and whining so I decided I am bringing a babysitter next time....or well, every Friday for our pool play dates! Play dates should be fun for Mom too ;) Braydon is just SOOO big!!! I am starting to feel like he just doesn't need me much at all when we go do fun things....he just takes off and plays until it's time to go...so easy!! so sweet!! so nice!! It's crazy to see how independent he is...However, I am being reminded that 15 months is great age, but it's by far the hardest phase of having 2. I can't believe Braydon was 17 months when we got pregnant with Brooks. Brooks is giving me a run for my money!! Baby #3 is going to have to wait quite a bit longer!!!

My sweet, crazy, funny Brooks!!! I love looking at those little curls in these pictures. Now, I can see how hard it is to cut curls, b/c you have so few and they just look precious bouncing around the back of your head. Oh I just LOVE those curls and how they smell of Johnson & Johnson's purple shampoo!! Ok, enough on the curls...

At 13 months you are seriously such riot!!! I just laugh all the time watching you bobble around and tell me what to do. Lately, you point to the sippy cup cabinet at tell me you want a "cup" and you run to the bottle cabinet and point to it at night night time. You LOVE to be upstairs and point and yell until you get your way. You basically tell me what to do all day by pointing to everything...it's sweet! You get SOOO excited when we go get donuts and nearly jump of the floor when you see I have donut holes. Always on the go, you love to go "bye bye" and wave all the time. I can't believe how much we can talk back and forth now. You are my little buddy and I just can't get enough of you!!!

A few weeks ago we took some pictures of the boys in the bluebonnets. I am so lucky to have a sister who will squeeze in some time in her busy schedule to take some amazing pictures of our boys! I couldn't believe how many great pictures we got of both the boys. Here are a few of my favorite of Braydon at 3 years and 3 months.

A few things about B at 3!!!

He wakes up most mornings crawling out of his room like a tiger. He loves lions and tigers!!! And LOVES "The Lion King" He's into pretty much anything "boy" like Transformers, Spiderman, motorcycles and any kind of super hero. He loves riding his Buzz Light Year bike and prefers riding his bike to his 4 wheeler (b/c the neighborhood big kids ride bike-of course). He still thinks he gets a treat after going potty and I usually give him one ;) He's been potty trained since December, but Easter bunny left lots of treats so.....I get it. During our down time in the day he will look at me and say, "okay Mommy, what's next?" He loves to be entertained and right by my side. He knows how to get Brooks engaged in play and wrestle time and he loves playing with is baby brother...it's so precious to listen to him fake laugh to get Brooks to laugh and then they just chase each other all around the house. Braydon is growing right before my eyes and he wants to be called a "big boy" and he wants to "do it by himself " and he "doesn't need any help"... It's nice to look at these precious pictures and remember he is still just my baby! Oh, how I love to watch him grow!!

Braydon's cousin Jaxson spent the night last night and they has so much fun. They are like best buddies that just don't miss a beat when they see each other. I could keep Jaxson for a week and it would be easy! They just play and play and play!!! Braydon has finally met his match....someone who likes to wrestle as much as he does. At 9:15pm last night, we had to tell the boys to calm down and no more wrestling and they looked at us and said 5 more minutes please!!!!!!

Today we gave Braydon the 4 wheeler that he was supposed to get for his 3rd Birthday (we just kept putting it off b/c Rowdy wanted him to ride his bike first :) Cute Dad thing!!! Anyway, he was so excited to ride it and he drove it like such a little man. I have to say I am so impressed with his skills....He's cautious and aware of what he is doing the entire time...it's really funny! It was a yucky day to give him such a fun outdoor toy, but we made the best of it and B loved riding his new ride!!! Brooks enjoyed watching from the side too :) I love this "all things boy" world!!!!

Braydon is getting so big...Last night he walked into the office and told me his foot hurt him so i told him we could go snuggle in mommy and daddy's bed and I would rub it for him. As we lay there watching Kung Fu Panda he kept saying to me, thank you mommy it's all better and then he would tell me his other foot hurt so it needed to be rubbed....this went on and on. I just love that sweet little monkey milking his mommy for a foot rub and late night snuggles so he didn't have to go sleep in his bed.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!! This day is so clear in my mind. We waited for 9 months to find out if we were having a boy or a girl and I couldn't wait another second to hold our sweet baby!!! When your Daddy told me you were a boy, I was so excited to have two boys and brothers!!! Your Daddy cried and was so glad to have another precious baby boy! Speaking of crying, you also cried so loud in the delivery room and you tee tee'd all over Dr. Wells! I guess you could say that you came out feisty and with stories that would make us laugh...you still are feisty and you make us laugh all day long sweet baby! I remember looking at those big lips and thinking you were just the most beautiful newborn. God had blessed our family with another perfect son. We have been abundantly blessed with the best memories of watching you grow these last 12 months and we just pray that every year continues to be as good as the last. You are so precious to us Brooks West! We love to celebrate you on this special birthday!! You are special gift!!!

This weekend we decided to go to Abilene to visit Big Daddy and let the boys ride the horses. The boys had more fun running around than riding horses this time. Braydon acted like such a big boy this trip and had a sleepover and didn't want for me much at all, b/c he wanted to play with the "big kids." Brooks proved he is not going to be our little sleep anywhere baby and we had him in between us all night after he decided to fall asleep at 12:30am!!! It was a great weekend! I love being able to escape the TV and just get outside with our boys! I know they will have some great memories of going to see Big Daddy as they get older!

I always find myself feeling sad when I let myself think about how the boys are growing so quick and wish I could just freeze time. The funny thing is I have wanted to freeze time basically every month since both boys have been born because I just "love that phase so much!" Tonight, I heard the sweetest words that only a "Big Boy" might say....As I was doing dinner dishes and Rowdy was trying to get B to eat some more bites of his chicken, Braydon stopped looked at Rowdy and said, "I love my Mommy so much!" It just melted my heart. He probably tells me he loves me 10 x's a day, but he has never just told someone else that he loves me. Ohh my sweet Braydon, your tender heart just melts your mama's!!

I can't believe that you are almost 1 year old sweet baby boy! You are just a rough and tough little guy. Tonight you fell down the stairs and hit your head at least 3 places so your new look is rather bruised. You love BALLS and you walk around the repeating "ball" "ball" "ball." You love your snuggie angel dear blanket and walk around the house with it in your mouth or hugging it tight in your arms. You have so many little baby things you do, but in the same breath you act like you are 18+ months. I love watching you chase Braydon and your fascination with opening and shutting doors. How you love to snuggle Daddy on the weekends and watch Seasame Street. You are just a precious joy with a sprinkle of some serious fiestyness. Your Dad and I love to watch you grow pee wee! We just laugh watching you all day long telling each other over and over, "he's just so funny!"

My little love bug!

Brooks you are such a crazy little baby. While you started walking last month, you decided to really take off this month. You are one fast little guy. I love watching you walk around the house like you have been doing it for years!!! You talk about "mama" and "dada" all day long and you wave if anyone says "hi, bye or night night!" This month you started to eat some table foods and turkey lunch meat is by far your favorite. You follow Braydon everywhere!! I love seeing how much you boys love each other. You are the perfect little baby brother for our family. We love you to pieces baby boy!!!

For Braydon's 3rd Birthday we had his party at WOGA gymnastics. It was a great time! I still can't believe our baby boy is 3 years old. This birthday made me realize how BIG my baby Braydon is!! He's a little boy! He's 3 years old!! I am so proud of the little boy he has become. He's just the sweetest little guy I know. Words could never describe how much we love this sweet boy!

Always Mommys Boy!

Last night both Braydon and Brooks were up at a minimum of 5 times between 11:36 pm and 1:05 am last night. At first it was no big deal, the boys have been sleeping great for weeks so I sucked it up and stumbled up and down while Rowdy acted like it was a another silent night (He did let me sleep in late Sunday so I didn't mind the sleep interuption too much). But the crying out for mama just wouldn't let up and I was ready for those boys to find their slumber. One more cry was let out and I couldn't help but say, "My goodness! Go to sleep already!!!" Frustrated, I walked into Brooks room, snuggled him and hoped this wouldn't take long...As we rocked, I was overwhelmed by the thoughts of all the families I have been praying for this week. In a moment all my frustration was gone, I was reminded that I am so blessed to be a Mother to two healthy boys who want to be held in the middle of the night. Here's to remembering to count my blessings even in the middle of the night. I am thankful for the reminder!

Stats for Brooks at 9 months:

Weight: 21lbs (50 to 75th)

Height: 28.8 (75 to 80th)

Brooks is such a funny little baby. Rowdy and I are constantly laughing at him because he's just such a tough little baby and he has such a fun personality. He squeals and kicks with excitement whenever we walk upstairs to the play room, outside, or take him out of his car seat. He talks and babbles the sweetest sounds all day long! He loves to wrestle his Daddy and Braydon and never watches without joining the chaos. He LOVES Braydon so much and thankfully Braydon loves him just as much. Although, Braydon has started telling Brooks, "No No Brooks....No sir!" It's pretty funny. Brooks started walking a few days before Christmas and is taking anywhere between 8 to 10 steps pretty frequently now. Every day he gets a little bit more brave. He started formula this month and tolerated the change very well. He still prefers to eat the Ella's Baby Food products vs. any table food. He sleeps...better, but still wants a 5am bottle :( and he gets it :) every. single. night. We might work on this soon...we will see.

I am so proud of this little guy. We are off to a pretty good start! Wednesday: B woke up and we put on big boy undies and we were 2 for 2 and had 2 accidents after that. Brooks wasn't feeling well so we went to the doctor and B would NOT leave the house in undies, so I didn't fight him and we wore diapers the 2nd half of the day. Oh well. Thursday: B had his last day of school so I decided it was a waste to push the potty training. Friday: Playdate Christmas party chaos...no go on potty training. Saturday: We dove into FULL on potty training. We have had his little potty in every room in the house today and he has done SOOOO good! He only had three small accidents and basically went on the potty every 20 to 30 minutes. He ran errands with Rowdy and he stayed dry in between stops and pottied in the back of the car when needed. He napped in undies and stayed dry!!! He even played at his best buddy Hudson's house and kept up the momentum with his potty training (Hudson was so proud of B that he decided to wear big boy undies too-so cute) Later today we went to main street to see Santa fly in on a parachute and Braydon had no accidents for over 3 hours of no potty. I am so proud of him and I am so happy to see him so proud of himself. I hope day 2 goes as well! For now, I will just call today a success.

I will admit that I am taking baby steps toward Braydon's big boy haircut, but I think I have heard enough about "chilli bowls" and we are well on our way to a true big boy cut. I can't believe how big my sweet baby Braydon looks in these pics. I love how his new cut didn't change his look too much. I don't know if I could handle that :)

All this talk of big boy stuff makes me realize we need to start the potty training. Soo...tomorrow I am whipping out all the buzz light year and spiderman undies and we are going to take another stab at this potty training business. After all, you can't be too much of a big boy with your diaper hanging out of your jeans....no??? Wish me luck!!!

Last Friday I picked up Hudson so Stacie could get ready for Brody's party and met Courtney and her boys at the train park. It was such a gorgeous day and the boys had so much fun running around the train park. We even were able to get a second picture with Santa which was nice because our first picture with the mall Santa was a little bit creepy. Braydon told Santa he wanted a buzz bike for Christmas.

It's so cute, if we are out at the store and B sees some toy he wants I tell him he needs to ask Santa for it and he replies with, "no, I want to ask Daddy!" I love it!

After last weeks family Sunday dinner, Reese asked if she could spend the night with her cousin Braydon. This was Braydon's first time to have a cousin or anyone spend the night with him. He was so excited and Reese was an angel. They snuggled up on the couch together and watched Toy Story 3 and slept on a pallet in B's room and played the next morning until 11am.

I don't remember time flying by so quickly until we had kids and now I feel like I blink and another month has passed. Brooks is 8 months and just the happiest boy! He started crawling at 7.5 months and is now pulling up on anything and everything and starting to cruise a little bit. He's rarely calm enough to be nursed so we are quickly hitting up the stored goods in the deep freeze. He loves Ella's Organic baby food-Thank you Stacie! Who knew broccoli, peas and pears would be so good!!! He can feed himself puffs and he loves sippy cups (preferable Braydon's w juice :) He did great sleeping for about a month and is now waking up in the middle of the night wanting to eat. We moved him to a big boy car seat and I kinda hate that he doesn't transfer from car seat to bed...He can go a whole day with two 20 minute naps...He just doesn't require too much sleep. I am excited to have a baby crawling around the house for the holidays...he's at that fun perfect baby age! We just love you to pieces Brooksie Bear!!!

Some things I want to remember about B at this fun phase...

Loves to wear his yellow "football" shirt and he asks to wear it every morning!

Will eat almost anything if we trade a bite for an M&M

Hits the baseball when he throws it up in the air...I am still impressed by this!

Says silly things like, "no no ants don't get me" (at least once a day...Braydon loves to find an angry ant pile) "that doesn't fit, it's too big" (when I put him in anything but his yellow football shirt) "Hud not at school today, he's sick and crying" (Because his Hudson was sick this week and missed MDO)..."Mama I need my BIG boy paci" (because I tell him daily big boys don't need paci's...paci's are for babies) He keeps me laughing at all the new funny things he says!

Pooped on the potty for the first time b/c he was scared of going in the bathtub...Thank goodness. (This has not been repeated) Oh well ;)

Has pretty much decided he doesn't need naps these days :( Maybe 1 every 12 days...only if I time a car ride right) I miss naps!

I sneak up on him giving his brother kisses as much as I sneak up on him "wrestling" with him. When he thinks he is in trouble he will say with a "question-like" tone MAMA or DADA?? Braydon has lost his baby looks and is more and more a big boy everyday! It's just a blessing to watch him grow into such a sweet little boy. I am already so proud of him!

Better late than never...

This has been a tough month for sweet Brooks. He caught his first "real" cold a week after Braydon started MDO and it turned into a double ear infection. He's on antibiotics that have cleared up his ears (yay) but resulted in thrush (boo). Thankfully, he hasn't passed on the Thrush to me yet...He has had random fevers for the last few days and I feel like Dr G. thinks I have a crush on him because we are at the peds office at least once a week. Have I mentioned Dr G is kinda cute?? (that was for you Rowdy). The timing of the cold came one night after we were able to get Brooks to sleep through the night for the 1st time. Obviously we took ten steps backward and he's back in between Mom and Dad at some hour of the night. We are going to work on this again soon! After nearly 7 months of no sleep, I am just now getting tired.

Milestones: going to the crawl position and back to sit. LOVES his sippy cup, the born free blue teether, and wrestling with Braydon. Braydon is pretty rough , but Brooks just giggles and laughs it off. He is still nursing but his curiosity is making nursing more of a challenge unless I starve him for 4.5 to 5 hours....He finally decided it was ok to take a bottle from me this month and he has decided that he only likes to eat my vanilla yogurt and banana flavored baby oatmeal. He's super picky about eating any other baby foods. He still has no teeth, but I think any day now one might pop through. We are so enjoying watching the boys have a brotherly bond. I can't imagine life 6 months ago pre-Brooks! He fits so perfectly into our little family!

Today Stacie and I took the boys to Frisco's Fire Safety Town. We had a one on one tour with a firefighter named Ben. He showed us around and let the boys run and play in the fire truck and all over the safety town. Safety Town is such a neat program that teaches about fire safety and the facility is amazing! The boys may have been a little young for it, but they LOVED getting to play in the fire truck! What a fun day with our boys!!! I love making memories with my bestie the babes!

After we made it home from our family vacation, we told Braydon that we left the paci at the beach. No paci balloons, no paci fairy, just it's gone baby boy! I can't get over how well he's doing without it. He never asks for it and if he does he reminds himself it's at the beach.

However, our nights and naps have forever been changed....He went for days with no nap, until I resorted to driving around until he FINALLY fell asleep and I would transfer him. Great! But, Brooks would be ready to go just about the time I lay Braydon down. So at no point during the day is there any break....never 2 sleeping babies. So today I decided no car rides, we would go to target get some TOY STORY figurines and he would sit and play on his bed. I told him you sit here and play and when you wake up I will come get you. After 2 minutes he said, "Mommy, I am up, C'mon Mommy!!" I just let him say it 40 or 50 times for about 45 minutes and then after it silenced this is what I found....He's still sleeping! And guess who got a 30 minute power nap with little Brooksie! Thank goodness we haven't said "bye bye" to our naps too! I still really love them!

This past week we went back to the beach with my side of the family. We stayed in the cutest little beach house in Point West and we had such a great time watching all the cousins play together. The first run on the log ride!

The first week in July, we took Braydon and our niece Hayley to SeaWorld in San Antonio. We had so much fun seeing Shamu and the Sea Lion shows. However, nothing topped Braydon's first amusement park ride on the log ride. I have never been so impressed with Braydon's bravery! He LOVED this ride....AND it has a 75 foot drop!!! We couldn't believe they let the little ones ride this, but we were so glad they did! After the big drop he would ask us to do it again. (thankfully there were no lines so we were able to ride it 3 times in a row with no wait!!) And Rowdy taught him to say "I am the Man!" after going down. ...This was his new saying for the week! This picture is from our first ride, by the second and third time, he was going down with his arms in the air! What a fun trip and what a fun little 2yr old we have!

I can hardly believe Brooks is already 4 months old!!! We had his 4 month check up last week before we left for vacation and his stats continue to surprise me. I think it's fun to compare the difference between Braydon and Brooks so here's what both boys measure @ 4months.

Braydon: Brooks:

14.8 lb (50 to 75%) 15.10 lb (70 to 75%)

25.3 in (75 to 80%) 25.6 in (75 to 90%)

Brooks is doing great on his development. He's already rolling over from "back to belly" and "belly to back." He loves to stand, laugh, talk, and he has started to sit for about 15 to 30 seconds unassisted. He still nurses 90% of the time and started cereal about a week ago...he LOVES it! He smiles constantly and is the best baby during the day. He could get a little better in the sleep department, he still would like to nurse once or twice in the middle of the night, but the Dr. told me he gets enough calories during the day and suggested I don't feed him. Soooo we play "paci rodeo" ALL. NIGHT. LONG!! I'll trade lack of sleep for my healthy and happy baby any day!

Today the boys gave Rowdy (us) the best gift for Father's Day.....SLEEP! We had a late night out celebrating Rhett's bday and the boys ALL slept in until 9:40am!!! Well, Brooks gave me a little wake up call at about 6:30am, but went right back down after he had a little morning feed. The boys and I made Rowdy breakfast, we went to church, and then we headed to my parents for a pool day!! It was a great day spent with my all the men in my life!!! Braydon has been wearing footed jammies for as long as I can remember. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall his toesies have always been covered up. Yesterday I decided to get him some new jammies! Since Brooks is by far the "gruntiest, noisiest, Mom and Dad can't get any sleep" sleeper, we decided we needed to get Braydon sleeping in his room so we could free up the crib and get Brooks in the nursery. Well, Braydon is doing awesome! Yesterday, I laid with him until we both fell asleep and today I just put him to bed and said, "night night!" He played in his bed for about 30 minutes and eventually nodded off. I am SO proud of him! I can't believe he is getting so big! It literally hurts my heart to think about it. Anyway, I thought this was a big milestone so I wanted to post a pic and give B a little shout out! Why are both my boys sleeping and I am blogging???

This past Saturday we took both boys to the Rough Riders Baseball Game. Braydon had a blast! He loved watching the players and running around. The $7 grass tickets were the way to go..Braydon was such a show off as he ran around trying to make people look at him and laugh...it was cute....Rowdy said it was cute for a minute! ;) Brooks chilled out in his carrier and enjoyed the fresh air...I think he really liked the fresh air, b/c he slept 6 hours this night...

After Brooks pooped in his baby tub I sent him

to the tub with Daddy and Braydon...He loved it!

Both boys are napping so I thought I would post some pics of my sweeties. My time for blogging has been limited these days with the new addition and a 2yr old who has decided to boycott naps... my hands have been full! Today I called up my GF's and asked that we go to play at the Wiggles so I could wear out Braydon so he would give me a break this afternoon!! It worked!!! Thank you Stacie and Court!!

Brooks is 1 month old today and I can hardly believe how quickly the last month has gone by. He continues to steal my heart everyday. He loves to snuggle and is just a sweet little baby boy. Braydon wants to hold him all the time and loves on him all the time!! As a result, Brooks continues to be our "countertop child" Thank goodness for bouncy seat and travel swings.

The last few days at home have been a bit of blur. I have managed to take few pics of sweet little Brooks and his Big Brother! Braydon loves his baby brother and wants to love on him ALL the time. It's so sweet! He throws little tantrums here and there and is not a fan of Brooks crying when I nurse him or change his diaper...he points to the swing or bouncy and tells me to put Brooks there. Rowdy has bonded so much Braydon in the last few days and Braydon loves all his Daddy time! I feels like Brooks has always been a part of our family! we just LOVE him to pieces!

A favorite!

Family of Three..or so we thought ;)

Who knew...On this vacation I joked with Rowdy and told him we should take a picture that says "we are pregnant" in the sand. He was like, "that's dumb, were not trying to get pregnant until next month!" I should have known that little whisper was more than a whisper, b/c a week or two after we came back home....I was pregnant and had been unaware that I was pregnant on our trip!

We are so blessed! In the last few days of being Mommy to just Braydon I find myself thinking about just how blessed we are to have this perfect little boy who brings joy to everything we do. And then I think about multiplying that joy by 2 and I am just overcome with happiness and excitement to meet our sweet new baby Brooks or Brinkley!

Well, for 8 more days I am all Braydon's! I think he knows it! There has been no MDO this week, b/c he has a "cough" and I just want soak up every last second with him! Today he almost put me into labor as I chased him around the park and watched him purposefully fall in the grass so I would tickle him. Today the dead grass tracked into the house didn't bother me! Everything we do has me feeling extra nostalgic. I just can't believe in a few short days my baby is going to look so much bigger to me...He will be a big brother!

Last Saturday night Braydon headed to Cowboy's Stadium with his Daddy for a boys night out at the PBR! He looked so cute in all the gear his Big Daddy bought him and from what I hear he had a great time watching the bull riding! My little cowboy did not make it home until 11pm and he was tuckered out. It was fun hearing Rowdy tell me all about the night he spent with his boy...he said that's a lot of work! ;)

Today was such a beautiful day! Stacie and I decided to take our best little buddies to the park to enjoy some sunshine together! Braydon and Hudson took full advantage of 2 hours of playtime! Since Braydon decided to skip his nap at MDO (this never happens) I was glad to spend a fun afternoon outside to minimize our breakdowns...B saved those for our trip to Target...and the car ride home-poor guys was so tired!....Little man ate dinner at 5 bath by 520 and is now snoring in bed at 6!!! After he was walking around the house telling me, the doors, his toys and anything in sight "NO" I broke down and put him to bed early. I hope he doesn't wake up too early tomorrow!! It seems to be his new thing-perfect timing with the new baby due in 2 weeks ;)

Today we woke up to a record snow fall of 10 inches! Braydon had a blast playing in the snow with his Mama & Daddy and all the neighborhood friends! His favorite part was watching Rowdy tackle the neighborhood big boys and throwing snowballs...he even liked when we would throw snowballs at him! He had so much fun...he played his little heart out for 2 hours! Poor thing finally got cold enough that it was time to come in! He took a warm shower that was so long he outlasted his Dad and just played in the shower by himself for about 15 minutes...he then ate an entire bowl of chicken noodle soup and now he snug as a bug for nap! I think it may be a long one :)
